KFM DJ INSTRUCTIONS
DO NOT KEEP DRINKS IN DJ AREA LEAVE THEM ON BAR BEHIND YOU
1. Ask Staff for the DJ IPAD - code is 1069
2. Open 'XILICA' app
Wait 10 - 15 Seconds for it to load & connect.
- if any issues after load / not loading after 1 minute, restart tablet AND TRY AGAIN- if still a problem let Will know and ask staff for help.
Note: touch channel once before adjusting to avoid lag.
3. If using our DENON PRIME 4 controller, Please google it and understand how it works via tutorials or the manual. It is a passive mixer for vinyl, a usb controller & an all in one machine so you could just bring a USB stick with your set if you want. CAREFULLY open case and press power button on the back right.
Channel selector is on the front face:
Mini Jack cable: Line 1
Left Turntable: Line 3
Right Turntable: Line 4
DO NOT EVER UNPLUG OR RE-PLUG THINGS IN THE BACK OF CONTROLLER
Check DJ setup & Microphones are plugged in correctly. Ask staff if you cant see input box.
An Rca Cable is available for your own controller is on a hook to your right:
If you can't find suitable leads, look in the silver box under DJ Setup. The inputs are all combo plugs and will support XLR or JACK.
NEVER put DJ in MIC channel.
4: Once you have checked your signal is coming through, PUSH ON AIR BUTTON & Play your music through the channel called 'DJ'.
Turn off other channels.
Keep 'Radio Output level' at level pictured:
- MAX OF 2 SPARE BARS
- MINIMUM 3 SPARE BARS

IMPORTANT FOR SETTING VOLUME!!!
UNDERSTAND SIGNAL FLOW!!!
DONT TURN UP YOUR DJ MIXER - TURN UP THE SPEAKERS CHANNELS
a) inputs playing at desired level (two spare bars/ full volume)
b) Turn down all speaker channels
c) Turn Master Speaker fader to FULL
d) set the 6 speaker zones to suit mood. Be careful to walk to the back & out front when setting rear & street speaker levels - you can't hear them at all where u are
Dont have music too loud for patrons to talk.
Take a walk around verona with the tablet in hand and adjust the speaker volumes to suit in each zone
5: When talking on the mic push the 'DUCKER' button.
This makes space on the music channel for clear voice.
If singing or rapping etc turn it off.
WHEN FINISHED, TURN ON THE PLAYLIST, PUSH THE 'OFF AIR' BUTTON & RETURN TABLET TO STAFF, IT LIVES BEHIND THE BAR.
TO SETUP AT THE BACK:
Follow same instructions.
!!!! IMPORTANT !!!!
Make sure that all input plugs are unplugged from front before playing / soundchecking from the back
these inputs are linked on the same channel.. If something is still plugged in at the front it will still be coming through.
Only plug in to power source found under seat as pictured - or there will be hum
Show recordings can be found at www.kfm.nzexo.com/logs
They are recorded in 1 hour blocks, and are titled with the date and the hour they started (e.g. 12.12.2020 from 2200)
They will be available for 14 days, then deleted. Please do not post or share this URL publicly - This is for DJs only to download shows.
